Deluxe Imperial Damascus M-89 Sword. No maker. Beautiful hilt on this piece is very ornate and similar, in some ways, to the one found on page 178 of Collecting the Edged Weapons of Imperial Germany, Volume I. Features black celluloid grip with royal cypher in the center. Triple wire wrap is perfect. Much of the original gilting remains on this piece. Imperial eagle is featured on the crossguard with the royal cypher in the center of its chest. Beautiful "maiden hair" Damascus blade features a gold plated ricasso area with floral engraving and two ribbons which read, "Eisenhauer Damaststahl". Blade buffer pad is intact. Reverse features gold Imperial eagle and crown. Blade will grade excellent++. Nickel-plated scabbard is exceptional, showing only light age and no denting. Attached to the two scabbard rings is an original red leather hanger with gilted hardware. There are no straps. Only the leather and buckle are attached to each ring. Beautiful sword! Exc++ (11680) $2,695.
