Imperial Presentation Hessen Cavalry M-89 Sword. No TM. Plated nickel fittings
show light wear and age with no damage. Pommel nut retains approximately 50% of
the plating. Black celluloid grip is in excellent++ condition with no chips or
cracks. Non-folding, half-basket handguard bears the coat of arms of Hesse (rampant
lion holding sword). The end of the quillion is engraved with the original owner's
name and Regiment, "DR. DECHERT 1.5.24". Plated nickel, double-etched blade has
blued panels on both obverse and reverse. Obverse blade is etched, "2. GROSH.
HESS. (LEIB) DRAG. REG. No. 24" with the royal cypher of Czar Nicholas II of Russia
(Colonel-in-Chief of the Regiment) and a mounted dragoon. Reverse blade has the
standard remembrance of service time etch. Blade grades excellent+ w/some light
lifting and pitting to plating. Virtually 100% of the bluing remains in the background
of the panels. Dent-free, metal scabbard has been professionally repainted and
retains 100% of the black paint. Sword is complete w/original sword knot. A similar
