On the obverse is deep, acid-etched floral motif, with the center having crossed swords. Reverse has the floral motif deeply etched, running about 14" down the panel. In the center is a smooth presentation area where the following is engraved, "Unserem lieben Oberleutnant Jagerung von Lutzow 1929" (To our dear 1st Lieutenant, Hunting Group von Lutzow 1929). This is beautifully jeweler engraved in the finest manner. Spine of the blade is also nicely engraved. Quality engraved blades of this type are a work-of-art, and would be a centerpiece of any serious sword collector.

Has scroll engraving on the brass hilt. Handguard also shows a floral motif. Delicate "maiden hair" Damascus blade features gold panels. On the obverse, the first small gold panel has "Damaststahl" with a blue background and gold raised letters. In the center is a gold panel with blue background and raised gold letters reading "In Treue Fest". This is repeated on the reverse in the center. Dark deer-horn grip. Has its original portepee in correct "tie". "Maiden hair" Damascus blade is marked on the spine "M. Neumann, Hoflieferant, Berlin". Approximately 5" from the top of the hilt are two panels on the obverse and reverse with the obverse panel reading, "V. Kirchbach/V. Westernhagen 1907". Written on the reverse within a panel at the top is "Furchtlos und Treu", which translates to "Fearless and true". This is raised in gold. About 5 or 6" beneath these panels are raised gold ornate floral panels with crossed swords on the obverse and a shield with helmet, axe, and spear on the reverse.

Genuine Damascus "maiden hair" blade. Obverse features a presentation inscription, ""Schleicher S/L. Nunninghoff" in raised Gothic letters. Both the presenter, Schleicher, and the recipient, Nunninghoff, appear in the 1914 Prussian Ranklist as Reserve Lieutenants assigned to the Westfälisches Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 7". Documentation confirming these assignments accompanies the sword. Reverse blade features the monogram, "DR VII" in raised Gothic letters surmounted by a crown.

Plated nickel, double-etched blade has blued panels on both obverse and reverse. Obverse blade is etched, "2. GROSH. HESS. (LEIB) DRAG. REG. Pommel nut is professionally engraved with the initials of the original owner, “W. H.” on either side of a caduceus, the symbol of the medical profession. Grip is complete with Imperial “WR2” cypher pinned to the obverse. Obverse blade features floral panels, as well as the royal cypher, “W2” with Imperial crown flanking a blued presentation panel. The presentation panel features the following inscription: “Dem Stabarztd. Landwehr Dr Hansberg zum 25 Jahr. Offizier-Jubiläum” (to Landwehr Medical Officer Dr. Hansberg on his 25-year anniversary as an officer). Reverse blade features a floral motif with a facsimile profile of Kaiser Wilhelm flanking a blued center panel, with the inscription, “Offizier-Verein I Dortmund”. The only Cavalry unit in the Imperial German Army raised from Oldenburg was the "Oldenburgisches Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 19" with his Royal Highness Friederich August Grossherzog von Oldenburg serving as Regimental Chef indicating this sword is, most likely, attributable to Regiment 19. Included with the sword is a color scan of an 1895 lithograph depicting the Oldenburg coat of arms.

Obverse blade features a 10" blued panel with gilt border and oak leaf motif flanking a central panel with the inscription, "Zum Andenken Meinem Lieben Major v. Herff" in raised gilt Gothic letters. Reverse blade features a 5" blued panel with gilt border flanked by gilt oak leaves, with the name, "Mendoza" in raised gilt letters. Major von Herff was promoted to the rank of Major on 27 January 1905, and in the 1905 Prussian Ranklist appears as a member of the "Triersches Feldartillerie = Regiment Nr. 44". Major von Herff was promoted to Oberstleutnant in 1912 and to Oberst in 1914. In the 1914 Prussian Ranklist, von Herff appears as the Commander of the 2. Rheinisches Feldartillerie = Regiment Nr. 23". There is no listing in the Imperial German ranklist for an officer with the name of Mendoza.

Blued panel is inscribed in raised Gothic letters, "Ein Scharfes Schwert in Starker Hand und Muth im Herzen Schutzt das Vaterland" (A sharp sword in a strong hand and a courageous heart protects the fatherland).

Obverse blade features gilted floral panels at each end of a 9 ½” presentation panel featuring the following inscription, “Hauptmann Wolf Wölfel Seinem Freunde U.-Zahlmeister Georg Krommes. Kriegsyar 1915/1916” (Captain Wolf Wölfel to his friend and paymaster, Georg Krommes, war year 1915-1916). Reverse blade features gilted floral panels on each end of an 8 ¼” long panel featuring the following inscription, “II. Landst. Inf.-Ers. Halb.-Bat. Sondershausen.” (Sondershausen is located north of Erfurt). Spine of blade features gold filled oak leaf design, is distributor marked, “Deutscher Offizier Verein, Berlin”.

Unique sword was presented by Leutnant von Gaffron und Oberstradem to Leutnant von Plänckner while both Officers were assigned to Grenadier-Regiment König Wilhelm I. (2.Westpreussisches) Nr. 7. Sword was probably presented in 1891, as both Officers appear as members of this Regiment in the 1891 ranklist, while in the 1892 ranklist, Leutnant von Plänckner appears as a member of the I. Thüringisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 31. Obverse langet features a heavily-chiseled profile of Athena, the Roman Goddess of War. Top of the lion head pommel has been hand-fitted to accept an M89 pattern pommel cap which features the deeply-engraved von Plänckner coat of arms. Modified “peacock” Damascus quillback blade. Obverse blade features a 7 ½” long blued panel surrounded by a gilt border and floral motif with the presentation inscription, “von Gaffron und Oberstradem s/l. von Plänckner” in shadowed gilt, Gothic letters. Reverse blade features a 7 ½” blued panel with gilt borders and floral motif, with the Latin inscription, “Si Perdis Honorem, Omnia Perdidis” (If you lose honor, you have lost all things) in shadowed gilt, Gothic letters. Spine of the blade is marked in gilt letters on a blued panel, “Ed Schultze, Hoflieferant, Pottsdam”.
